This week in Sedalia Missouri, Andy Thomson was a much anticipated guest at the 67th International Airstream Rally. Andy's reputation as an expert in the field of towing and the dynamics of hitch installation is known far and wide. The organizers of the rally were well aware of this and didn't take the chance putting him in a classroom, but used the main stage in the Mathewson Center for his presentation.
As expected the presentation was well attended by folks from all over the United States and Canada and they were not dissapointed. Andy's presentation leaves no doubt that his recommendations are all based on experience and research over the course of dozens of years and thousands of vehicles. He used multiple videos of track testing, charts with all the research carefully documented and customer examples to substanciate his recommendations. To say folks were impressed was an understatement. There is something about the way Mr Thomson can present the facts, and often facts that folks didn't want to hear, in such a way that listeners are receptive and entertained at the same time. It's actually quite a skill!
The hour long lecture was really not long enough, but as always Andy invited the attendees to follow him out to the parking lot where the Tesla and Tommy Bahama were parked so he could answer individual questions. The personal Q and A session outside was as long as the stage presentation. At the end of the day Andy Thomson reinforced his reputation as the most respected towing expert on the continent and underscored why Can-Am RV Centre are " The Towing Specialists". I couldn't help but think while watching this excellent presentation that Andy Thomson Senior must be looking down and be so very proud of how the family business that he started in 1970 is so highly recognised in the international RV industry
